After generating ideas about gentrification and discussing them further, we decided that for our IPP project we should have characters talking about the different sides of gentrification at a pub, while the background itself morphs from traditional to gentrified. We chose a pub as our environment, since it’s one of the places that is more noticeably affected by the topic.
I took on the role of a background artist because I’ve recently been more into digital painting and wanted to better my skills in it as well as try out a role I’ve never done before. For the pub, we wanted to have a more traditional English pub look, so I researched various interiors of the pubs my teammates recommended. I made two moodboards – one for the interior design of the pub and the other one of the artistic style.
